Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier

You do not need a NC CRFL Salt Water license if you fish from the Bogue Inlet Pier, and there is no charge for spectators! The 2007 Bogue Inlet Pier Season Passes are now available. They will be $200.00 for BOTTOM fishing, and $250.00 for KING PASSES (a gate key is available for $5.00 for late fall and winter fishing.) Passes run from 6 AM thru 6 AM each day. You can purchase the next day's pass after MIDNIGHT for EARLY BIRDS. (that gives you 30 hours instead of 24!) DAILY BOTTOM FISHING PASSES (2 rods per person) are $8.50 (children 6 and under are FREE)

Daily Bottom Fishing Passes (2 rods per person) are $8.50 (children 6 and under are free) Daily King Fishing (4 rods per person) is $15.00. Three Day Bottom Passes are $23.00 (valid for 30 days from purchase) Rod Rentals are available for $5.00 for 6 hours ($.75 per additional hour) Tackle is reasonable, and you keep it for your next trip. Beach Parking is available on Saturday and Sunday for $5.00, if no one in your car is fishing.

North Carolina Maritime Museum

Other information about the museum can be obtained by visiting the website of the Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum at http://www.ncmm-friends.org. A Junior Sailing Program and a Summer Science School program are available for children ages 8 and older.

Cape Pointe Marina

Barbours Marina is located in Harkers Island. This marina has everything you need for an outdoor excursion. From boating to camping, you can find your supplies at Barbours. Boat slips can be rented by the month, or by the year. Access to the boat ramp is available for a small fee. The Ships Store sells necessities like live bait, gas & oil, snacks, and souvenirs. With a close proximity to the Cape Lookout National Seashore Barbours Marina offers Island Ferry Adventures to Cape Lookout, Shackleford Banks, and Beaufort.

Onslow County Partnership for Children

The Onslow County Partnership for Children offers resources and information for families related to child care, child development, and child health. Customized child care referrals are available for both full and part-time care. Assistance paying for child care may be available (some restrictions apply). Families can also utilize the Resource Center on-site to check out toys and educational materials for up to 30 days at no charge. Periodically, health and developmental screenings for young children are offered. Hours of operation are 8:30-12:30 and 1:30-4:30 Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 1:30-4:30 Wedneday; and 8:30-12:30 Friday. Saturday hours are available by appointment.

Beaufort Historic Site

The Beaufort Historic Site allows you the opportunity to view Beaufort as it was many years ago. With the aid of guided tours of the historic homes, the Old Burying Ground, and preserved buildings, you will be able to imagine yourself living and working in this old seaport town. An authentic double-decker English bus will transport you through the historic district while a knowledgeable guide enlightens you with some of Beaufort's history. The Beaufort Historic Site's museum gift store is known as the Old Beaufort Shop. The special gifts, toys, and accessories that are sold here give visitors a taste of Beaufort's heritage that they can take home with them.
